A Crossroads Built by a Road and a Railroad
Fraser has almost no recorded history before 1851, when the Detroit Erin Plank Road Company began building Utica Road through the area, followed by an 1858 rail depot on what is still called Depot Road. The village incorporated in 1894 and the city followed in 1956, meaning the crossroads core predates most of the drainage infrastructure serving the newer construction built up around it since.
